Calculating a creative curve

From hedge funds to hunting for the next hot opportunity, I am curating the life I want to life professionally and personally.

A self-trained home-cook, passionate foodie, zealous wine lover and travel junkie - that's me. I live in Cape Town, South Africa, home of great food, amazing wines and white sandy beaches. I am married and have three gorgeous four-legged children. I enjoy sharing my experiences with those who enjoy reading about these well-loved topics.

My love affair with all things culinary started at a young age. I remember sitting in the kitchen with my late grandmother peeling vegetables.  My curiosity led to me asking far too many food questions for her to answer! My passion for food has grown over the years and is by far one of the highlights of my life. A great meal, whether it is in a small pizzeria or a 3 Michelin star restaurant, is what makes life worth living!

You don't have to cook fancy or complicated masterpieces - just good food from fresh ingredients. Julia Child

Wine? Well that came naturally.  I wrote a few wine exams, was part of the Novare SA Terroir Wine Awards since inception and have met some of the most remarkable wine makers in South Africa. But apart from all of this, I realised that finding your own palate is the most important factor in enjoying wine.

Just like becoming an expert in wine, you learn by drinking it, the best you can afford. Julia Child

Having grown up in a small town, travelling has always been a huge passion for me and I started a travel fund with my first salary.  Why travel – well, for starters it opens your eyes to different cultures, you learn to speak new languages, it is adventurous, it gives you perspective, is educational, sometimes a challenge, but at the end your dreams come true and you are blessed with amazing stories and experiences that will last forever.

Find something you're passionate about and keep tremendously interested in it. Julia Child

My dream is reflected in my drive to leave behind something substantial in my lifetime and most of all, to have fun while doing it!
